Undercoating vs bedliner. It will crack and then retain water underneath. There is a paintable undercoating. The bed liner is hard and the rubberized undercoat is pliable and will keep rocks etc from hitting the underside of the fenders and causing star chips.
It needs to be top coated because it will absorb moisture. Would the undercoating even hold up. Any need for the more expensive bedliner.

Eastwood has some very good 2 part epoxy bedliner thats similar to commercial grade stuff that holds up well.
